Card Creating Tuesday - Use Distress Inks

For my ***100 Follower Giveaway***, please click HERE

Happy Tuesday all my crafty friends!!
Today is Card Creating Tuesday, and the theme was to make a Valentine's Card, or to use Distress Inks.  I signed up to use Distress Inks, but I used them on a Valentine's day card!!  I have to say that this may just be my favorite of all the valentines cards I have made this year!!

Here is a picture of the supplies that I used for today's card:

I started with a piece of kraft cardstock
from The Paper Company.
I cut the heart shaped card from the
Wild Card Cricut Cartridge at 5".
Next, I used the Divne Swirls Cuttlebug folder to emboss the card.  I then rubbed, Fired Brick Distress Ink all over the embossing.  Then I sprayed the card with Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist.  Don't you just love the glimmery sparkle!!

Next, I took a white doily heart that
I have had laying around for a few years!!
I inked that up with Tea Dye Distress ink and also
sprayed with Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist.

So next I used the brand new Peachy Keen January Stamp of the month to stamp this adorable little angel!!  I stamped her onto a blush colored cardstock and then colored her in with my Stampin Up Stamp and Write markers and a blending pen.  I added Yellow Stickles to her halo, some tinsel glitter to her wings and some glossy accents.  She is just so adorable, don't you agree!!

I stamped the darling little sentiment from the same stamp set onto the blush colored cardstock with Fired Brick Distress Ink and then hand cut the banner.  I coved the heart with Xmas Red Stickles.  I inked up the banner with the Fired Brick Distress Ink and then crumbled it up
and then adhered it to my card with foam tape.

I finished off the card with a little bow tied from Crinkle Ribbon from My Craft Spot in Vanilla Bean, which I also colored with the Fired Brick Distress ink.

Here is my finished card.

I have entered this card in the following Challenges:

Today's theme was BIRTHDAY!!  And what perfect timing, my youngest stepson had a birthday yesterday.  My husband and I met when his youngest boy and my boy were 10 years old and they played on the same soccer team.  That was 16 1/2 years ago!  So my stepson just turned 27 and my son will be 27 in July.  Man they are getting so old, which means we are getting really old...lol.
So here is a sneak peak of my card:

The Letter of the Day is D

My Cricut Craft Room
Today is letter D so the Team over at My Cricut Craft Room can use ANY cartridge that begins with the letter D , or any image that begins with D.  For my card today, I chose to use Damask Decor.  This cartridge has so many elegant images and cards that you can make.

For my card today, I chose the image on page 67.  I first cut the card feature at 5" and the the layer was cut at the same 5".  I used DCWV Street Lace paper pack.  I embossed the card layer with a Cuttlebug folder before adhering the heart layer.  I sanded the embossing just a touch and then went over the whole card layer with some Distress Ink in Black Soot.  I added the heart layer and tied some ribbon and glitter tulle to the top of the card.  The sentiments are from My Creative Time "100% Sweetness" stamp set, which I stamped with black ink and then added emobssing powder.  I added a few pink gems to add some bling.

Thanks for stopping by today and please make sure you stop by My Cricut Craft Room

Theme Day Thursday - Art Philosophy

Welcome back and thanks for visiting.  It is Theme Day Thursday over at My Cricut Craft Room
My Cricut Craft Room
For today we could use a Valentine's Die Cut or the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  Well Art Philosophy is my favorite cartridge, so of course I picked that!!!  I am so excited to share this project with you because I almost always make cards, but today, I decided to try something different.  For the last several months I have been seeing alot of people making banners and I have been wanting to try one.
Here is a sneak peak!!
I use Art Philosophy for all cuts except for the leaves.  Those were cut from Mother's Day Bouquet at .75".  The banner pieces were cut at 5" from page 39 using the Layer and Decorative Layer features.
The letters were cut at 2" using the font feature.   Here are pictures of the rest of the letters

As you can see I made more flowers.  I just love making these flowers.  I used the flowers from
page 70,once again using the Font Feature, they were cut at 3" & 2.5".
I cut them from cream, hollyhock and pattern paper.

I made a bunch but only ended up using 4 of them, but now I have some already made for another project!!
All paper for this project is from the Close to My Heart "More to Adore" paper stack.  This is more paper from my stash that I am trying to use up before buying more!!  I just love this paper stack.  I inked the edges of all layers using CTMH Choolate stamp pad.  I sptritzed the flowers and the letters with Glimmer Mist in Petal Pink and Walnut gold.  I added some pearls and gems.
Here is a picture of the finished banner.  It is hanging on the wall of my cubilcle at work!!

Well thanks for hanging in there with this long post!!  Make sure you check out the rest of the design team project over at My Cricut Craft Room

Would You Ever Guess Wednesday

Welcome back for another

My Cricut Craft Room
On WYEGW, we can use anything on the cricut cartridge EXCEPT the main image.  For my project today, I chose the A Child's Year Cartridge.  For the longest time I hesitated on buying this cartridge, since my kids all all grown up and I thought I had no need for this cart.  I kept see projects made on other blogs and the Cricut Messageboards using this cartridge.  So I finally decided to buy it!!
I picked the image on page 39, it is using the ICON feature using the shift key.  Here is the sneak peak!!
I cut the image at 3.5" in cream color cardstock.  I knew I wanted to cover it with stickles.  When I first tried painting on the stickles, I was not getting full coverage.  You could see alot of the cream color, so I decided to wipe off the stickles and add some color with chalk.
Here is what the image looked like with just the chalk.
Pretty good, but I needed to add the sparkle, so I added Candy Cane and Green Stickles.  All the paper is from Close to My Heart "Elegant Bouquet" paper pack.  I have alot of the older CTMH paper packs, so now I am trying to use them.  I have so much paper, I kind of vowed not to buy anymore until I used up at least some of what I have.  We will see how long that will last...LOL!!
Here is a picture of the finished card.

I inked the edges of all the paper with Distress Ink in Tea Dye.  I used the Swiss Dots and Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folders for the two mats.  I added some My Craft Spot Crinkle Ribbon in Scarlett Red.  I finished the card off with a tag from the coordiating sticker stack from CTMH and the sentiment is from Paper Trey Inks "Birthday Basics" Set.

Theme Day Thursday - Laundry

Welcome back and thanks for visiting.  It is Theme Day Thursday over at My Cricut Craft Room

My Cricut Craft Room

Todays theme is LAUNDRY!!
How fun is that!!  I love that Erica is challenging us to think outside of the box.

So here is my project for today

I just think this card came out so cute!  I love the colors.  I actually used 3 cartridges for this card.  For the "laundry", I used Country Life Cricut Cartridge.  Plus, I used the banner feature key!!  The images I cut are on pages 59, 61 & 66.  They were all cut at 1.5".  I hung them on the line using twine.

The word "just" was cut from Just Because Cards at 1.5"  The phrase "hanging out" was also cut at 1.5" from Simply Charmed.  The paper is DCWV Dot, Stripes & Plaids paper stack.  I added some more twine, plus a couple of bling flourishes from Recollections.  I also used a Martha Stewart border punch and inked the edges with a Studio G stamp pad.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Crafting!!

Would You Ever Guess Wednesday

Today is Would You Every Guess Wednesday over at My Cricut Craft Room
My Cricut Craft Room
We could use the feature keys on a cartridge, make a cake project with a regular cartridge, or use a regular cartridge to make a cake creation. We also had the option to use the Icon Feature Key. So there are 5 different ways that we could have made our projects today.  Now I had signed up to use the Feature key, but I misunderstood that I was supposed to use the Icon Feature key!!  I thought I could use any feature key.  Oh well, I will get the hang of this sooner or later!  Anyway, here is my project:

For this card I used the Beyond Birthdays and George and Basic Shapes cartridge.  It was a fairly simple card to make, but I had the hardest time cutting the center part with the word love.  I had to cut it 3 times because the paper kept tearing!!  UGGGG!!  And I was using one of my favorite Close to My Heart paper packs "Sillouette".

Anyway, I finally got it cut out, and assembled the card.  I used the framed feature on the Beyond Birthdays cartridge.  This image is on the bottom row. 3rd from the left.  I cut the same image several times, each layer I hid certain cuts using my gypsy.  For the card base, I welded two of the ovals with a small little rectangle from George.  All the oval images were cut at 6" W, and the rectangle was cut at .56" H.

Here are a couple of pictures that show the images on my gypsy screen before and after welding together and then a pic of all images cut on the mat.  I added a piece of red glitter cardstock to the back of the center image, so that the red glitter would show through the word LOVE.

I inked the whole think up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye, added some Scarlett Red Crinkle Ribbon from My Craft Spot, and then I added some little red glitter dots from Stampendus.

100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Welcome to the 100 Cartridge Blog Hop.

My Cricut Craft Room 100 Cartridge Hop

If you are joining me from Laurie's Blog, then you are in the right place.  If you just happened to visit my blog today, then please make sure you check out Erica's blog at
My Cricut Craft Room to start at the beginning.

There are so many talented ladies in today's hop.  This is day two of the hop, so be sure to check Erica's Blog for yesterday's hop list.

So, I was a little over ambitious and signed up for 5 cartridges!!  I signed up for Art Philosophy (my favorite cart), Elegant Edges, Sweet Treats, Sweethearts and Ultimate Creative Cartridge Sampler

I made 3 cards, one using Sweet Treats, one using Sweethearts, and then the last card I used, Art Philosopy, Elegant Edges and Ultimate Creative Sampler.

Now, on to my projects!!

For this card, I used Sweet Treats.

I cut this super cute card using the card feature.   I cut the card and all the layers at 5.5"
The PP is Imanginise Sweet Cheri line.  I cut the tag using a Stampin Up punch and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper "Sweetest Cupcakes" set.

For this next card I used the card feature on the Sweethearts cart.
It was super quick and easy to make!!

This card was so hard to photograph, because of the glitter paper.
This card was one simple cut, I cut it at 5.13" H.  I saved the cut out piece of cupid to use on another project.  I used kraft cardstock, and then a piece of red glitter cardstock was glued to the back.  I embossed it using the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder.  I used distress ink to the card base.  The sentiment is from My Creative Times "100% Sweetness" set.  I finished it off with some crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot and a rhinestone corner.

For my last card, I actually used 5 different cartridges!!

This is a Valentine's card, but I decided to use non-traditional colors.  The paper is from DCWV Lemon Flower Stack.  I love this stack.  Actually I could even use this as an anniversary card, since my anniversary is Feb. 6th!!  The card base was cut from Art Philosophy at 7" H.  The pretty heart border was cut from Elegant Edges at 7"w x 1" h.  The heart was cut from the Ultimate Creative Sampler at 4.7" h.  The arrow came from Gypsy Wanderings and the sentiment came from Wild Card.  I finished it off with some rhinestone swirls and crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot and some distress ink.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects, your next stop is: Kym

My Cricut Craft Room Design Team - My First Project!!

I am so excited, this my first post for the Design Team for Erica's at My Cricut Craft Room!!  This is my very first full time design team.  This is going to be a picture heavy and long post!!

For today's project, we had the option to make a Baby Boy themed project or to use the Flower Shoppe Cartridge.  I chose to use Flower Shoppe.  Here is my card.  Believe me, this card is so much prettier in person.

So here is how I made these beautiful flowers.    I cut 2 different flowers.  I have to apologize, I use my gypsy for everything so I do not have the page numbers in the book, but on the keypad I used the flowers on the top row, from left to right #6 & #8.  I cut each flower 3 times, at 4", 3.5" & 3".  Here is what they looked like to begin with.  I cut them from plain ivory cardstock.
I then used my Imaginisce Petal Roller to roll the flowers
The last step was to use a hot glue gun to put a dollop of glue at the bottom.
This is what the flower looks like all rolled up and glued.
Now, to add color to the flowers, I used 3 different methods.  First I inked just the tips of the flower with a dark purple ink.
This 2nd flower, I dabbed a lavender stamp pad all over the flower.
For the 3rd flower, I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist.  I also sprayed all flowers with Glimmer Mist in Pearl to give them some sparkle.  Here is all 6 flowers, rolled, inked, and sprayed
So here is a picture of the finished card again.

The leaves were also cut from Flower Shoppe, I added the veins with my embossing stylus.  I finished it off with some crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot in Deep Purple.  The Sentiment is from Close to My Heart "Happy Birthday" set.  I went over the stamping with my Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic Pen to give it some sparkle.  The Paper is also from Close to My Heart "Paper Garden" paper pack.  I also punched the ivory paper with a Martha Stewart border punch.

Here are some close ups of the beautiful flowers.  I decided to used these Chrysanthemum type flowers becasue they matched the paper perfectly!!  I will save the other flowers for another project!!

Please make sure you check out Erica's blog to see more projects at

Make sure you check back this weekend for the 100 Cartridge Blog Hop!!
