You should have come from

For my first project this month, I decided to make a project directly from the book, using the "Just Because Cards" Cricut Cartridge.  I had ourchased this adorable paper from my LSS, it is from Best Creation Inc. "Robot" line.  When I saw this paper, I knew the exact cut I wanted to use!!

The card base, label, and space ship were all cut from page 33,  the card base was cut at 8".  I had orginally cut the label at 8" as well, but I thought it was too big, and wanted you be able to see the wonderful paper, so I cut a smaller one, unfortunately, I did not save the resized image.  The spaceship was cut at 8" as well.  The sentiment was a sticker from the same paper line.  I mounted it on a piece of orange glitter cardstock and cut around it to make a shadow layer.  I used a few different cuttlebug folders, and finished it off with some twine.

For my second project, I used 3 cartridges.  Blackletter, Beyond Birthdays and Celebrate with Flourish.

The base of the card was cut from Beyond Birthdays at 7.31"h.
The frame and banner were cut from Blackletter.
The frame was cut t 6.10" and the banner at 1.31"

The flower in the vase is from Celebrate with Flourish.
All the layers were cut at 3"h
All the paper is from the"Perfect Day" paper pack from Close to My Heart.

I embossed the sentiment (very messy!!) with Copper Zing Glitter Embossing Powder.
I distressed everything with Antique Linen and Iced Spruce Distress Ink.
The ribbon is from My Craft Spot.  I did not have the right color, so I inked
some Vintage Vanilla with the Iced Spruce Distress Ink.
I finished it off with some Stickles in Xmas Red and Crystal.

Don't forget to comment along the way on all of the blogs
today and tomorrow to be entered to win the Cricut
cartridge that Erica is giving away today.
Winners will be announced on her blog on Tuesday!

Card Creating Tuesday - Use Heat Embossing

Today is

For today's project, we could use the
provided sketch, or use heat embossing.
I chose to use heat embossing for my card today.

I used the following supplies:

Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Cartridge
Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art Cartridge
Al La Mode Embossing Powders
Corrdinations Cardstock
PP is from Papercraft
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
My Craft Spot Crinkle Ribbon
Glitter Cardstock
Glimmer Mist
Close to My Heart "Easter Eggs" Stamp Set
Versamark Dazzle Ink Pad

I started off by stamping several different
Easter Eggs from the CTMH stamp set.
I love this set because it has about 12 different
stamps with different patterned eggs.
I stamped them all on white cardstock.
I then applied embossing powder in several pastel colors.
I used my heat gun to heat up the embossing powder.

Next, I sprtized each of the eggs with
Glimmer Mist in the coordinating color to
the embossing powder.  I cut each of the eggs out.

I cut the easter basket and all it's layers from
Celebrate with Flourish at 4.5"
I used a basket weave Cuttlebug folder on the basket.
I cut the eggs down to size so they would fit in the basket.
The sentiment was cut from
Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art at 2".

Thanks for visiting today and please make sure

Happy Birthday/Guitar

Here is a birthday card I made for my grandaughter.  She loves to sing and play her little purple Hannah Montana guitar!!  This little paper doll looks just like her too...LOL.

The paperdoll was cut from Everyday Paperdolls and the sentiment is from Celebrate with Flourish.  The pattern cardstock is DCWV.  The rest is various scraps.  I used a little bit of embroidery floss for the guitar strap.  I used PK Basic Paper Dolls for her face and did a little bit of pen work.  I also used a Martha Stewart border punch.  I am entering this in the FCCB - #77 – Make Some Music

Pink Roses

So for my second post today, I made a card for my mother-in-laws upcoming 80th birthday.  The challenge this week at Birthday Sundaes was a color challenge, to make a birthday card using pink, green and white.  Well my scrap room is these 3 colors!!  Since I just got my Art Philosophy cartridge this week, I decided to try making some 3D flowers.   Here is a close up of the flowers.

I have had such fun playing!!  The vase is a cut from Celebrate with Flourish, I just cut off some pieces!!  If you missed it the birthday wording is in the lower left corner, the stamo is from Papertry Ink "Mega Mixed Messages".  I added a little bling, some stickles and glimmer misted the flowers.  Oh Yeah, the pink flower in the middle was cut from white paper.  I inked the edges with SU Pretty in Pink and the applied glimmer mist.  The pink, green and white background paper is from Making Memories.   I also used a little bit of twine from My Craft Spot!!   I am also entering this in FCCB Challenge #74 – Birthday Bash
