Card Creating Tuesday - Sketch

Hello all my crafty friends!!
Today is the last week of June, and my
final sketch.  Let me tell, you this one had
to be the hardest!!  When I saw this sketch, I thought
OMG, I have to make a waterfall card!!
Well I have never made a waterfall or for that fact
any other special type of card. (easel, gate fold, etc.)
So what was I gonna do???  Well to the web of course!!
My first and only stop was Splitcoast Stampers.
If you have never been to this site, you need to check
it out!!  There are all kinds of tutorials.
Here is the one that I used:
At first it looked intimidating, but it ended up being pretty easy
and I am thrilled with the results!!

Here is the sketch:

And here is a sneak peek of my card!!

These sunglasses were cut at .70" from Forever Young.
I added some gems in the corner and
glossy accents to the lenses.

Next, the bathing suit was cut
from Nifty Fifties at 3.40"
I placed each piece on a seperate panel.

Lastly the flip flops are from
Life is a Beach cut at 2".

All the paper except the card base is from
my scrap pile.  The adorable paper used on the
card base is Imaginisce Makin' Waves.
This paper is so cute, and I was lucky enough to
recieve a few sheets, in a recent order from
The sentiment is from K Andrew's Splastastic Summer
I stamped it on to A Spellbinders Classic Large Square.

Here is a quick video showing the action!!
Boy is it hard to record with your phone and
pull the tab on a waterfall card...LOL!!
(man my hands look old...LOL)

I hope you enjoyed my card as
much as I enjoyed making it!!

Card Creating Tuesday - Sketch

Hello my crafty friends and welcome back!
As I have stated in my previous posts this month,
I have signed up to do the Sketches all this month.
I wanted to challenge myself to try some different things.
I promise, next month, you will see more than
just sketches from me!!

Here is the sketch for this week:

Here is a sneak peak:

For my card today, I used my all time favorite cartridge, Art Philosophy!!
This cartridge is awesome.

The card base and top layer were cut at 5" from page 31
of the handbook.

The paper is used for the base and layerare from Echo Parks
Hello Summer line.  Isn't it adorable!!!  I got it from
Erica's Store.  She has a great selection and great prices.
Check it out here HERE

The polka dot paper is from Doodlebug.
I used Spellbinders Label One die for the center.
The cute little turtle is from Peachy Keen's
June Stamp of the Month kit.
She is mounted on an Action Wobble.
The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's
"Even More Punnylicious" stamp set.
I added some Liquid Pearls Dots
in Buttercup and Rouge.  I just love the new colors.
You can find them in the store too!!

I added a few butterflies from my stash and some
crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl Jam and My Craft Spot.

Please make sure you stop by My Cricut Craft Room
to see all the wonderful projects from my design team sisters!!

Card Creating Tuesday - Sketch

So, for today, I have a very simple card for you.
As I indicated last week, for this month,
I signed up for the sketch each week.
I am trying to expand my style...LOL

Here is the sketch we were to use today

This was a very simple card.
The only Cricut cut is the brown
frame piece in the middle.
This was cut using George and Basic Shapes.
I wanted to keep it plain because it is for my husband.
With Father's Day and his birthday both on
Sunday, I needed a couple of cards.
He likes to wear hats, so I thought
this was perfect for him!!

The darling little hat is a die cut
from My Creative Time's
newest release called
"Here's Looking at You".
The sentiment is from the same set.

The background paper is DCWV "Green Tea" Stack.
The ribbon is from my stash.

Thanks for looking and please make sure
you check out what the rest of the
design team made today at
