Theme Day Thursday - Apples or Fruit

How are all my crafty friends today??
I am getting ready to go in vacation next week
so I have been super busy at work!!

We are going to Chicago!!
My hubby works for Amtrak, and he got
picked to be in a safety video.
So the company is flying him to
Chicago for the video shoot and we decided
to make a vacation out of it!!
We have been there once before, so are really
looking forward to visiting again.
And one stop I am going to be sure to
make is to the Archiver's Store!!
We do not have Archiver's in California.

Anyway, enough chit chat, on to my project.
Today is Theme Day Thursday, and the theme today
was to use an apple or any fruit cut.
I decided to combine the theme with a swap
I am participating in.  For the swap, I was to make a
fall card with an embellishment.

Here is my card.

All my cuts are from an oldie but a goodie "Doodlecharms"
The basket was cut at 2.80" out of kraft cardstock.
I embossed it with the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder.
I then inked it with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
The bands on the basket were cut in grey and I
added brads as the rivits.

My apples were cut at 1.5".  I cut the base layer in green
and instead of cutting the piece for the stem,
I just used a marker to color the stem brown.
Now, my favorite kind of apple is a Gala Apple.
So I decided to make my apples look like Galas.
I cute the top layer out of yellow, and then used
Fired Brick Distress Ink and pounched the color
on.  I also embossed them using the Swiss Dots Folder.
I just love the way they turned out!!

The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper
"Fruit and Veggie Puns".
The pattern paper is from an old
CTMH paper pack called "Twitterpated".

Hop on over to My Cricut Craft Room
to see more fun fruit projects!!

Hello my crafty friends and welcome back!

I wanted to challenge myself to try some different things.
I promise, next month, you will see more than
just sketches from me!!

Here is the sketch for this week:

Here is a sneak peak:

For my card today, I used my all time favorite cartridge, Art Philosophy!!
This cartridge is awesome.

The card base and top layer were cut at 5" from page 31
of the handbook.

The paper is used for the base and layerare from Echo Parks
Hello Summer line.  Isn't it adorable!!!  I got it from
Erica's Store.  She has a great selection and great prices.
Check it out here HERE

The polka dot paper is from Doodlebug.
I used Spellbinders Label One die for the center.
The cute little turtle is from Peachy Keen's
June Stamp of the Month kit.
She is mounted on an Action Wobble.
The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's
"Even More Punnylicious" stamp set.
I added some Liquid Pearls Dots
in Buttercup and Rouge.  I just love the new colors.
You can find them in the store too!!

I added a few butterflies from my stash and some
crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl Jam and My Craft Spot.

Card Creating Tuesday - Sketch

Hello, my crafty friends!!
This month I decided to challenge myself!!
I get in a rut and seem to use the same
design for my cards.  So this month
I decided to sign up for the
sketch challenge each week!!

This first sketch was really a challenge!!

After seeing this sketch, the first thing I thought of was
bubbles.  But then, I was looking through the stuff I
recently got from out wonderful leader Erica,
and I came across these stickers, there are only a few left!!:

Once I saw these stickers,
I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
Here is a sneak peak:

For today's card, I used the following cartridges:
Card Base - Elegant Edges
Banner - CCR Party Picks & Pennants
Donuts - Love You a Latte
Slumber Party
Sweet Shop

Most of the paper is Coordinations
The background paper is Best Creations
I also used stickles for the sprinkles!!

For the donut in the right bottom corner, I wanted
it to look like a sugar donut.  So I ran it through my
Xyron face down, and then covered it with
fine glitter.

Can you see where I used the stickers??

The sentiment is perfect, don't you think...LOL
It is from My Pink Stamper
"Sweetest Cupcakes" stamp set.
I stamped it then embossed it
using Pink Zing Glitter Embossing Powder.

I added some crinkle ribbon from
My Craft Spot in Pink Bubblegum.
I also embossed with the
Cuttlebug Spots and Dots Folder.

I hope you like my card as much
as I liked making it.
(it would be better if I could eat the donuts...LOL)

Please be sure to check out what the
rest of the design team made today over at

This month I made 4 different projects using 4 different cartridges.
So just a heads up, this is a long post with lots of pictures!!!

This first card was made with the Cotton Candy cut
from the County Fair cartridge.
This cartridge has some really fun
Fair related cuts on it!!
The cotton candy and all the layers were cut at 4".
It is mounted on an action wobble.
I used glitter paper for the top layer
of the cotton candy and then
embossed it using the Divine Swirls folder.
This cute sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's "Sweetest Cupcakes" stamp set.

This next card is from the adorable Ole' Cartridge.
Being hispanic, this was a must have
cartridge for me!!  I made
this adorable birthday
card for my mom.
Her birthday was this past week

She is mounted on an action wobble
so she can dance the night away!!
She was cut at 4.5".
The border frame
was cut at 5".
The lovely senorita has a mole on her
cheek just like my mom!!
I used Peachy Keens Laughy Taffy stamp set.
I used the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder on her hair.
For those of you that do not speak spanish
(ha, I don't either...LOL)
This says Feliz Cumpleanos, which
means Happy Birthday!!
This was cut at 2".

This next card was made using the
Nifty Fifties cartridge.
I just love this poodle cut!!
I think it is my favorite of all the poodle cuts.
My spoiled dog #2 Jasmine is
a minature poodle.
I used my gypsy to weld the
base image together to
make a shaped card.
the base was cut at 5.5"

The poodle was cut at 5.5".
I used the swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder
on the body and the divine swirls
on the fur.  I also added some Diamond
Stickles to the swirls.  I gave her
a diamond collar and toenails!!
The sentiment is from the K Andrews
"All About Animals" stamp set.
I am entering this card in the Simply Sunday
Challenge over at Getting Cricky and
Celebrate the Occasion

This last project is my overall favorite!!
I made this beautiful box from
Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.
It is the Bride Box cut at fit to page,
which cut at 8.75".  I also used
the scoring blade to score the lines.
I added crystal accents to the bodice.
some black ribbon and a white paper rose
I had in my stash.  I inked the edges of
the rose with black ink and dipped it in glitter.
On the bottom of the dress I used a crystal border
and this beautiful flower ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by, I hoped you enjoyed my projects
as much as I enjoyed making them!!

For my projects today I used, Accent Essentials, Animal Kingdom and All Mixed Up.

This first card was made with Accent Essentials.
For this card, I used my gypsy to weld two of the scalloped squares from page 78 to form my card base.  These were cut at 5", the frame is is on the same page and also cut at 5"
The flower was from page 77.  I used my gypsy to seperate each layer and I cut each layer from a different pattern paper.  I spritzed each layer wil Pearl Glimmer mist and curled the edges then joined them all together with a green glitter brad.  I used a Glue Dot to attach to the card.  I used 2 different Cuttelebug folders to emboss the card base and frame.  The smiling flowers is from Simply Charmed companion folders, and the leaf one I believe is from Preserves.  I added a little inking and some twine.  I purposely left off a sentiment, that way I can use it for any occasion!!

For this next card, I used Animal Kingdom.
For Valentine's Day I bought each of my grandkids a cute little box of Animal Crackers from Walmart.
They are each a different animal.  So I am making a matching card for each of them.
So for this one, I used the head feature.  Now this is supposed to be a monkey, it kind if looks like a bear cub, but oh well.  I am sure my 6 yr old grandson will love it!!  I welded to of the head shapes to make the base of the card. Then cut the layers.  All were cut at 5".  I hid the eyes so I could use my Peachy Keen "Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed" stamps.  I added some glossy accents to the eyes.  I used My Creative Time, new Teeny Tiny Tag Die to cut the tags and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper "Punnylicious" stamp set.

For my last project today, I used All Mixed Up and Kate's ABC's
The words were cut at 1.5" using All Mixed Up.  And the shoes were cut from Kate's ABC's at 3.5".
I distressed the edges of the pattern paper and inked them.  I added some Pink Bubblegum Crinkle Ribbon from My Craft Spot and some gem to the shoes.

Thanks for stopping by today.

100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Welcome to the 100 Cartridge Blog Hop.

My Cricut Craft Room 100 Cartridge Hop

If you are joining me from Laurie's Blog, then you are in the right place.  If you just happened to visit my blog today, then please make sure you check out Erica's blog at
My Cricut Craft Room to start at the beginning.

There are so many talented ladies in today's hop.  This is day two of the hop, so be sure to check Erica's Blog for yesterday's hop list.

So, I was a little over ambitious and signed up for 5 cartridges!!  I signed up for Art Philosophy (my favorite cart), Elegant Edges, Sweet Treats, Sweethearts and Ultimate Creative Cartridge Sampler

I made 3 cards, one using Sweet Treats, one using Sweethearts, and then the last card I used, Art Philosopy, Elegant Edges and Ultimate Creative Sampler.

Now, on to my projects!!

For this card, I used Sweet Treats.

I cut this super cute card using the card feature.   I cut the card and all the layers at 5.5"
The PP is Imanginise Sweet Cheri line.  I cut the tag using a Stampin Up punch and the sentiment is from My Pink Stamper "Sweetest Cupcakes" set.

For this next card I used the card feature on the Sweethearts cart.
It was super quick and easy to make!!

This card was so hard to photograph, because of the glitter paper.
This card was one simple cut, I cut it at 5.13" H.  I saved the cut out piece of cupid to use on another project.  I used kraft cardstock, and then a piece of red glitter cardstock was glued to the back.  I embossed it using the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder.  I used distress ink to the card base.  The sentiment is from My Creative Times "100% Sweetness" set.  I finished it off with some crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot and a rhinestone corner.

For my last card, I actually used 5 different cartridges!!

This is a Valentine's card, but I decided to use non-traditional colors.  The paper is from DCWV Lemon Flower Stack.  I love this stack.  Actually I could even use this as an anniversary card, since my anniversary is Feb. 6th!!  The card base was cut from Art Philosophy at 7" H.  The pretty heart border was cut from Elegant Edges at 7"w x 1" h.  The heart was cut from the Ultimate Creative Sampler at 4.7" h.  The arrow came from Gypsy Wanderings and the sentiment came from Wild Card.  I finished it off with some rhinestone swirls and crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot and some distress ink.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects, your next stop is: Kym
