Pointsettia Flower Card

****For My Blog Makeover Giveaway, click HERE****

Hello My Fellow Crafters.

I have been wanting to make a card with a pointsettia on it.  I know I have seen some on other blogs, but could not remember just where I saw one.  So I googled it and low and behold found a great tutorial HERE at My Craft Spot.  And what better timing, this weeks challenge at My Craft Spot is Challenge #34 - Handmade Flower Power!!  Is that a co inky dink or what!!!  Anyway, here is my try at making a pointsettia:

I used Flower Shoppe for the pointsettia.  Here is a close up of the flower.

I used cooredinations cardstock for the flower.  Inked it up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen.  I spritzed both the leaves and the flowers with glimmer mist and shaped the flower with my Imaginisce Petal Roller. I added a vintage style button for the center.  The background paper and green cardstock is Close to My Hearts "Believe" paper pack.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch and added some Crinkle Ribbon in Vanilla Bean from My Craft Spot.
I finished the card up with a Martha Stewart tag, which I inked with more distress ink and the sentiment is from Sweet Anna Bee Designs "Joy to the World" set.  If you have time check her out HERE.  She is a high school student that has come up with her own line of stamps to help pay for college.  Isn't that a great idea!!
I finished the tag off with some tinsel string from Prarie Bird Designs and some glitter gel pen.

So, of course I am entering this in this weeks challenge at My Craft Spot.

Ornament Swap

****For My Blog Makeover Giveaway, click HERE****

So, I finally spent some time in my craft room yesterday.  I had signed up for my first ever Oranment Swap over at Pink by Design and yesterday was the last day to get them in the mail!!  Here is what I came up with.  I really love blue, silver and white for christmas and I love snowmen and snowflakes, even though I live in Southern California!!

The base of the ornament was cut from Art Philosophy at 6", the top layer was cut at 5.80".  The cute little snowman and his layers is from Winter Frolic, I beleive I cut him at 3".  The paper is from an old DCWV Winter Stack.  I embossed the base layer with the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder.

Here is a closeup of the snowman.  I don't know what cart the snowflake is cut from, I had a bunch of them left over from last years cards!!  I used Peachy Keen's Christmas Face Assortment for his face.  I used Stampin Up's Brocade Blue to ink the edges, and added some bling to his scarf.

This tag is from MarthaStewart and the sentiment is from Crafty Sprouts "Have a Cool Yule" stamp set.  I added some glitter gel pen.   I also added some bling from Recollections.
I made the ornament 2 sided, and the snowman is on an Action Wobble.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Papercraft Weekend Challenge - November Inspiration Challenge (Use blue, white & silver)
Craftysprouts - Anything Goes

It is Finally Done!!

My Blog makeover is finally done!!  I hope that you all think it is as fabulous as I do!!
Chris from Get Inspired with Chatterscene is absolutely fabulous to work with.  She got it done quicker than I thought, even with all the changes I had her make.  She is so patient, I don't know how she does it with all us crazy crafters...LOL  Her prices are also so much more reasonable then other sites I looked at.  Please pop over to her blog to see all the fabulous work she has done.

Oh yeah, did you notice in the title, in the frame with my vector image, she put a picture of my 3 spoiled dogs and the card I made with them on it!!!  Great Job Chris!!!

I am going to give away some blog candy to celebrate my fabulous makeover.  I don't have a picture yet, but will get one up this weekend.  Details to follow!!!

Blog Makeover Coming Soon

Hello All My Crafty Friends,

I have unfortunately not been able to spend any time in my craft room lately.  I need to dedicate some time soon to start on my Christmas cards.  I don't want to be stuck making them at the last minute.

I also signed up to make a homemade ornament for the Pink by Design Community Handmade Ornament Swap, so I need to get working on that too as I have to get it in the mail by Nov. 21st!!

Anyway, I just wanted to post about my upcoming blog makeover!!  Chris over at Get Inspired with Chatterscene is redesigning my blog and I cannot wait to see it!!  It should be done by the end of this week.  Please check back as I will be having some blog candy to celebrate my makeover!!

Happy Crafting!!
